Apple Bread

So I made this today, it sounded like it could be amazing. I used Jiffy apple cinnamon muffin mix and then I added thin sliced apples and a sprinkle of brown sugar. Doesn't that sound YUMMY? Well it was good but just sorta blah. You live you learn, you add more apples! :)

Pasta, Pasta, Pasta

We have sort of been on a pasta kick around here lately. Its cheep and oh so filling. Here is meatlovers lunch from earlier this week. It contains the pasta we have been eating almost every meal, spaghetti. He also has strawberries and carrots. So filling, So little points. This was about 5 or 6 in total! The blue container in the picture is where we are keeping our cooked noodles. We have been making up a big batch and keeping it in the fridge so we can eat it whenever. Its been working very well.

Not just any salad..its BLUE!

So what do I have to say about this salad..well not much..the romaine tasted funny and it was lacking texture but man does it look pretty. I topped it with Blue Cheese dressing. I love that stuff!

He ate this..I had cereal

New recipe people..OH YEAH!! This time its potstickers. I almost forgot to take a picture so the one above is of just one of them just seconds before he ate it. It took me so long to cook it and figure out the recipe, I made it myself, that I just ate cereal. I was too tired to make my own. So do u want the recipe? Well here you go.

Potstickers
(exact measurements not needed)
Pork sausage, precooked
Red onion, grated
Carrot, grated
Egg roll wrappers
Egg
Beef Stock
Oil
Soy sauce
First mix sausage, onion, and carrot together in a bowl. Then add just enough egg to kind of make it all stick together. Place a spoonful on the wrapper and wrap according to package directions. Add a thin layer of oil to a pan and place potstickers in the pan so they don't touch. When the wrapper is golden brown on both sides add about half an inch of stock to the pan and cover with lid. When the liquid is all boiled out remove from pan. Serve warm with soy sauce.

Meatlover's Watermelon Lunch

Today Meatlovers meal consisted of honey ham and american cheese sandwiches, carrots, and watermelon. It was 14 points and he said it was really good, although he thinks watermelon doesn't keep well in these containers. It tasted a bit off but still really good.

Isn't it pretty?

The other day Meatlover and I were wandering through the Wall*Mart clearance area when we stumbled upon a chocolate mouse mix. I was like..YUMM..we have to get it...so we did. I whipped it up and put it in these beautiful parfait glasses my grandmother gave me. I topped it with a circle of cream cheese frosting and cookie crumbs. I think it looks very classy..and it was yummy too!

I burnt...water!?!?

So I really wanted pasta a few days ago for dinner. I put on a pot of water and sat down to watch TV. A few minutes later I smelled SMOKE!! I was confused because I mean how do you burn WATER?!?! But never the less I did. Meatlover says it was actually the calcium build up in the pan from our hard water that was burning but whatever. So instead I decided I would use the oven to cook me some pasta. That is how I ended up with this concoction. I took inspiration from no boil lasagne. It is pasta, egg, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and tomato sauce. The noodles seemed to cook okish..but it was no where near amazing. Oh well..it worked for the day.

Sad..Its Not Burnt!

One of my all time favorite things to eat are baby red potatos...YUMMM!! So the other day I made what meatlover calls a hobo meal. Basically its baby reds with EVOO and season salt wrappend in aluminum foil that you throw in the oven or, if you want it super yummy, the coals of a nice hot fire. I like it when the get all charred and burnt..its amaaaazzziiingg..try it!!

Ooo Pretty Colors!

So Meatlover and I went shopping last night..well this morning @ about 1am! Yah, be jealous! Anyways we tried to buy healthier options and much more produce. So here is what we bought produce wise: a bag of red potatoes, 3 bananas, 1 grapefruit, 2 sweet potatos, romaine lettuce, 1 watermelon, a bag of baby carrots, and several different types of apples. Isn't it pretty sitting out on the counter like that?

Weight Watchers

So Meatlover and I have started Weight Watchers. Yep, that's right I said Weight Watchers. Like I have said before Meatlover and I are trying to lose the weight we gained in college so we thought we would try it. I have also mentioned we don't have a lot of money so we are not doing the official Weight Watchers plan, but I figure there is so much online...why pay? So since we are doing it on our own we are journaling everything we eat and using an online points calculator. To weigh ourselves we are using the Wii and WiiFit game. So wish us luck everyone! Ill keep you posted. :)

Peahaters Pea-Free Dinner

So I had little time to cook for peahater last night since I have been going crazy trying to finish all my finals for school. I asked her what she wanted for dinner and she said Hamburger Helper's Stroganoff. That's the gray blob you see on the plate. If I would have had more time I would have grated some invisible veggies into the dish to give it something more but I didn't. She also has some baby carrots and a slice of garlic bread. Not the best dinner but...it works..she was fed.
